Bokeh is a photographic term for the aesthetic quality of areas not in focus.

Some photographic styles commonly use selective focus to bring the viewer's attention to the subject. This mean the subject is focused but the non-subject areas are not. If those unfocused areas are busy and distracting, the intention of bringing attention to the subject is thwarted.

Bokeh Designs is about the design of the aspects of sites that are not the subject – the visual design, colour scheme, layout, functionality and usability and loading speed of the site. The goal is to ensure that these aspects are pleasing and not distracting, bringing the subject of the site into sharp focus.
